Half-centuries from John Cambell, Sunil Ambris, and Vishaul Singh helped the home side finish the day at 236 for 4 on Day 1 of the four-day unofficial test between Sri Lanka A and West Indies A played at Florence Hall yesterday.
West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first on a wicket that offered very little for quick bowlers. Surprisingly, the Sri Lanka bowlers found movement off the deck but were unlucky to not dismiss batsman at will.
Malinda Pushpakumara bagged 2 for 62 in 19 overs. Sri Lanka used a total of 8 bowlers in their attempt to dismiss the home team.
Sunil Ambris remains unbeaten and dangerous with a quickfire 62 off just 75 deliveries.
