Antonio Conte’s Chelsea Football Club appeared content after finishing 1-1 in yesterday’s encounter against Liverpool despite failing to find the back of the net from the penalty box in the second half at Anfield. The point helped the Blues maintain a healthy nine point gap over Arsenal and Tottenham.
An excellent free kick from David Luiz gave Chelsea the lead in the first half. Simon Mignolet was found guilty of being in “no man’s land” when Luiz took the free kick.
However, Georginio Wijnaldum’s second half header levelled the scoreline with Liverpool on the counter. Fabregas and Pedro’s introduction helped the Blues go on the hunt for a winner. Simon Mignolet’s brilliant penalty save in the second half saw the game through to a tie.
Meanwhile, Watford got the better of Arsenal with two first half goals opposed to the one Arsenal scored in the first quarter of the second half. The Spurs were forced to leave with a point from the Stadium of Light.
Manchester City and Manchester United will play later tonight.
