Marc Marquez held the lead but crashed out as Cal Crutchlow cruised through to his second MotoGP win in the Australian Grand Prix short while ago.
From far behind, travelling at an unbelievable speed, Valentino Rossi finished second overall. He started 15th but gradually came second passing Aleix Espargaro at Turn 1.
Marquez’s crash at Phillip Island’s Turn 4 certainly did favour Crutchlow and Rossi.
“I’m fine. Sorry to the team, I did mistake. I braked too late, and instead of going wide I tried to keep the line. I took a lot to risks to lead from the beginning. We must be happy, because we won the title, but of course we want to win more races,” said Marquez.
