The Wolverhampton Wanderers got the better off Liverpool FC, winning 2-1 in the FA Cup Fourth round match played at Anfield on Saturday the 28th of January 2017. The loss forced the reds to crash out of the all-important tournament.
Jurgen Klopp made a few changes in the squad, opting to give the youngsters a go with Tuesday night’s match against Chelsea on sight. However, the Wolves were on top of their game from the first whistle.
Richard Stearman gave Wolverhampton the advantage in the very first minute of the first half. An excellent finish from Andreas Weimann in the 41st minute helped the visitors double the lead. They had more chances but were by the Liverpool goal keeper.
Belgian striker Origi netted one for Liverpool in the 85th minute but it was a little too late.
Meanwhile, Chelsea outperformed Brentford while Manchester United got the better of Wigan Athletic. Manchester City power their way through Crystal Palace. Arsenal defeated Southampton FC five-nil.
