Ezy Wolves led by former Sri Lankan skipper Sudarshana Muthuthanthri got the better of Mobitel Eagles in the recently concluded Colombo leg of the Sri Lanka Super 7’s powered by Dialog. However, the Eagles were crowned overall champions after making it to their second successive final in two weeks.
In the second leg, the Wolves won 26-12.
In total, the Eagles accumulated 55 points. Moreover, the Etisalat Panthers completed a narrow win over Cargills Gladiators to finish third. The likes of Fazil Marja, Srinath Sooriyabandara, and Naveen Heenkankanamge made it an exciting contest with plenty of individual brilliance. The Panthers won 22-19.
Sudarshana Muthuthanthri was adjudged most valuable player of the tournament.
Kingswood College got the better of St. Joseph’s College to win the Schools U16 7’s title.
The Sri Lanka Super 7’s is an iconic tournament organized by the rugby union of Sri Lanka with both national and international participants.
