A 17 member Pakistan Army rugby team arrived in Sri Lanka for a bilateral series with the SLA rugby team from the 25th of July to the 1st of August 2017.
The program was part of the Army-to-Army Sports Exchange initiative between the two countries.
The Pakistan Army team is led by Brigadier Ghulam Jilani.
Moreover, Pakistan Army Hockey and Air Force soccer teams were also here for a short time period in the recent past. They played Sri Lanka Army and Sri Lanka Air Force.
The objective of the program is clearly to strengthen ties between the two countries to develop a specific sport for the benefit of both nations.
