Former right-arm fast bowler Rumesh Ratnayake was appointed lead fast bowling coach of Sri Lanka Cricket a short while ago.
He will work with Chaminda Vaas, Ravindra Pushpakumara, Nuwan Zoysa, Dharshana Gamage, Chamila Gamage and Ruchira Perera. Vaas’ inclusion will strengthen the unit and help Sri Lanka Cricket through the ongoing tough phase.
53-year-old Rumesh Ratnayake played 23 Tests and 70 One Day Internationals for Sri Lanka. He has claimed 149 wickets in total in his international career. He made his debut as a teenager and ended his career as one of the island’s finest fast bowlers of all time.
