S.Thomas’ take the edge on Day One

Late resistance from Royal College Colombo spoilt the day for S. Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia but the Thomians were slightly ahead at the end of play on Day 1 at the Sinhalese Sports Club Grounds, Colombo. At stumps, the Thomians were 33 for the loss of none.

After being put on to bat first, Royal College lost two early wickets but a solid partnership helped the side to 93. The Thomians bagged four more, forcing Royal to apply the breaks in the second session.

A stubborn partnership down the order carried Royal College to a satisfactory score of 255 in 70 overs.

In response, S.Thomas’ got off to an impressive start that gave then the edge at the end of the day’s play.

As expected, the crowd was absolutely amazing with great support for both sides.
