Dimuth Karunaratne’s unnecessary run-out disturbed Sri Lanka’s resistance by breaking the strong opening partnership involving Kaushal Silva. Kusal Perera followed Karunarante, trying to thrash a delivery outside off-stump. He was caught behind to a delivery from Maharaj.
The South African bowlers produced good deliveries but the wicket did very less compared to Day 1 and 2. The Sri Lankan batsman were very watchful until Kaushal Silva was dismissed to a straight delivery. He was caught leg before wicket.
Sri Lanka will need something spectacular from the seniors to save the Test. However, the South Africans are in a pretty good position to take the visitors down with at least 40 overs to play before the end of the day’s play.
