Sri Lanka made excellent use of the batting conditions and used a total of fourteen bowlers as an experiment in the two day warm up game against India Board’s XI at Eden Gardens Kolkata over the weekend.
Batting first, half centuries from Sadeera Samarawickrama, Angelo Mathews, Niroshan Dickwella and Dimuth Karunaratne steered the visitors to 411 for 9 in 88 overs
In response, the Sri Lankan part timers managed to pick crucial breakthroughs but Sanju Samson’s 128 took the home team to 287 for 5 in 78 overs.
Surprisingly, the entire SL squad was turned into a bowling unit except for skipper Dinesh Chandimal.
Sri Lanka will play India in the 1st test at the same venue on the 16th of November 2017.
