One of Sri Lanka’s finest swimmers of all time, Tara Bolling passed away on Wednesday and her funeral will take place at the General Cemetery, Borella at 4.30pm today.
Tara, in her days, represented Sri Lanka in many international events including the Tokyo Asian Games and the Commonwealth Games held in Cardiff.
She went on to become a swimming coach in the latter part of her life. Together with her husband and son, she founded the Rainbow Swimming and Aquatic Club in 1988.
Tara’s youngest son Julian went on to represent the country in the Olympic Games and is a well-known coach as well.
