After the electric start to the tournament, Sri Lankans suffered a setback in the 9th, 10th and 11th match with rather ordinary contributions in the Bangladesh Premier League over the weekend.
The Bangladesh Premier League commenced on the 4th of November 2017 and the finals are set to be played on the 12th of December 2017.
Rajshahi Kings v Rangpur Riders
In the 9th match, first of the weekend at the Shere Bangla Stadium, the Rajshahi Kings got the better of the Rangpur Riders by 8 wickets.
Batting first, the Rangpur Riders made 134 for 5 in 20 overs. Thisara Perera was dismissed for 4 in just 6 deliveries. In reply, the Kings cruised to the target with 8 wickets and 20 balls to spare. Lasith Malinga in his 3 overs went for 30 and was wicketless.
Sylhet Sixers v Dhaka Dynamites
With three consecutive wins in the three games played, the Sylhets were in high spirit but the Dynamites fought their way back to complete an easy 8 wickets win with over 10 overs to spare.
Batting first, the Sylhets were 9 down for 53 but an unexpected knock from Abu Hasan took them to 101 for 9 in 20 overs. Danushka Gunathilaka made 15 in 9 balls but Upul Tharanga was dismissed for 1. Wanindu Hasaranga made 8 in 10 deliveries for the Sylhets.
In reply, Shahid Afridi and Evin Lewis hammered their way to an easy win. Shahid Afridi was adjudged player of the match for his all-round contribution.
Khulna Titans v Chittagong Vikings
After losing three wickets in quick succession, the forties from Mahmudullah and Ariful Haque led the Titans to 170 for 7 in 20 overs. Dilshan Munaweera bagged 1 wicket for 16 in 3 overs for the Vikings. In reply, Munaweera was dismissed for 10 in 5 balls and the Vikings were restricted to 152 for 7 in 20 overs.
Abu Jayed was adjudged player of the match.
