After another impressive batting performance, Yasir Shah lifted Pakistan to the driver’s seat, dismissing two Sri Lankan top order batsman towards the end of Day 4 of the 1st Test at Abu Dhabi last evening.
At the end of the day’s play, the visitors were 4 down for 9 with a lead of only 66.
Dinesh Chandimal’s heroic innings gave Sri Lanka the edge on Day 2 but Pakistan fought back to post 422 on Day 4. Azhar Ali and Haris Sohail were stand out performers for Pakistan. Rangana Herath bagged another five-for for Sri Lanka.
In the second innings, Sri Lanka lost Dimuth Karunaratne to a delivery that spun but failed to kiss the bat. Karunaratne walked away instead of appealing against the decision.
With six wickets in the tank, Sri Lanka will try to push the lead past 150. A couple of wickets in the first session can take Pakistan to a winning position.
