Moreover, the boys’ 4x100m relay team was also well ahead before an ineffective baton exchange resulted in disqualification at SAJAC. If not for the unfortunate slip, the four male athletes will surface as definite candidates for the Asian Junior Championship.
However, the Girls’ 4x400m side will have a good chance of finishing in the podium with Amasha De Silva and Dilshi Kumarasingha in the side. They were the finest of all female athletes at SAJAC 2018.
All four athletes in the boys’ 4x400m Asian Juniors team has earned qualification for the IAAF World Youth Championship. All eyes will be on Aruna Darshana of Weerakeppetipola MV who will compete in the Boys’ 200m, 400m and 4x400m relay events at the Asian Juniors.
