With a large number of participants, the ASTASL is all set to conduct this year’s Sepak Takraw Nationals on the 18th and 19th of November 2017 at the St. Joseph’s College Indoor Stadium.
The tournament will be hosted by Sepak Takraw Sri Lanka.
The training programs covering the armed forces, police, clubs and schools have attracted more participants and each institution will be allowed to field four teams in total.
Sri Lanka were hosts for the 2nd South Asian Sepak Takraw championship that featured five SAARC countries earlier this year.
What is Sepak Takraw?
Sepak Takraw is a traditional Asian game played with a woven synthetic ball using the feet, shoulder, elbow, knee and head. The game is played between two or three person teams by hitting the ball above the net as the opposition attempts to block or hit back. The ball is in play until it touches the ground.
