The team bus carrying Borussia Dortmund players for the champions league quarter final clash was hit by three explosions in Monaco earlier today. Spain international Marc Bartra was the only play to sustain an injury from the explosion.
Immediately, the match was postponed to Wednesday and will be played under high security.
However, the team bus’s windows were broken and tyres were blown up by the explosion.
Monaco fans were praised for their support, especially towards the away fans from Dortmund.
“Shortly after the departure of the Borussia Dortmund team bus from the hotel to the stadium there was an incident. The bus has been damaged in two places,” said the club (Borussia Dortmund) in a statement.
Meanwhile, Juventus stunned Barcelona with an impressive 3-0 win in the first quarter final game at home. Paula Dybala was at his absolute best against the Spanish giants. He was able to find the back of the net in the 7th and 22nd minute of the first half.
Chiellini’s goal was in the 55th minute left the Spaniards in a state of shock.
Nevertheless, an upset in the second leg is certainly in Barcelona’s reach.
