A late strike from Michy Batshuayi Tunga gave Chelsea FC the Premier League title in the game against West Brom on the 13th of May at the Hawthorns. With two games to go, Tottenham Hotspur has no chance of overtaking the blues, seven points ahead in the points table.
Furthermore, Antonio Conte’s side has a chance to double their silverware as they taken on Arsenal in the final of the FA Cup on the 27th of May 2017.
With two title wins in three seasons, Chelsea has their eyes set on Champions League glory in the next couple of years.
“We started to do our work. We have to improve in the next season, to find the right solution to improve. We are working [for] only nine months together. I think if you can continue with these players you can improve a lot. Now they know my idea, I know them, the characteristics of my players. And we can improve. The club want to fight to win every competition. We have the same ambition. For this reason we try to keep the best players,” said Chelsea boss Antonio Conte in a recent press conference.
Almost every player had a part to play in the side’s hunt for glory but former Leicester ace N’golo Kante was the pick of the lot. Kante was presented the PFA Player of the year award earlier this season.
Moreover, victories over Watford and Sunderland will make Chelsea the first team in the Premier League era to win 30 games in a season.
