The International Cricket Council cleared Shaminda Eranga’s bowling action and he can resume bowling with immedite notice.
The 31 year old’s action was found illegal after the series against England in June last year. The assessments were done in Loughborough.
Eranga’s action was reassessed at the ICC accredited testing centre in Chennai earlier this month.
In 19 tests and one day internationals, he has a total of 78 wickets and was in prime form before being banned from international cricket.
He has the potential to boost the side’s bowling department, especially in times of crisis. However, his inclusion for the upcoming India tour remains unlikely.
