Followed by the Bradby shield at the Royal Complex last week, it turned out to be an interesting month of school rugby, credit to an outstanding crown which turned out on a regular basis.
As of now, Isipathana College and S. Thomas’s College remain unbeaten in their respective group.
Shifting our focus towards Division B, Zahira College remains triumphant, turning out to be possible a candidate for Division A rugby next season. Alternatively, Thurstan College looks solid as well.
After dominating four games, Isipathana College edged past Science College to establish their stronghold, creating a platform to complete yet another season successfully.
Losing to two top sides, St. Peter’s College still has plenty of areas to work on. However, St. Anthony’s College showed that they are capable of anything by beating the likes of Kingswood College last weekend.
Meanwhile, S.Thomas’ College only has Isipathana to overcome, outclassing the likes of Royal and Trinity College in their own den. This might as well be their season to attain glory.
As the first leg of the annual Bradby shield concluded (22-17) in favour of Royal College, the second leg is scheduled to be played next week in Kandy.
Followed by a draw against the Joes, Royal College completed a narrow win against Wesley.
In other news, Trinity College skipper suffered a one match ban after recieving a red card in the match against S. Thomas’ College.
As far as the league title is concerned, the second round matches remain vital with S. Thomas’ and Isipathana College battling it out in their own.
We are yet to find out if Zahira College has what it takes to qualify for Division A by finishing the rest of their matches in style.
