Sri Lanka’s Asela Gunaratne is all set to join Bangladesh Premier League side Dhaka Dynamites for the 2017-18 season commencing on the 4th of November.
The 31-year-old will play alongside Kumar Sangakkara, Shahid Afridi, Mohammad Amir, Shane Watson and Sunil Narine.
Despite making a late international debut, Gunaratne has burst through as one of Sri Lanka’s finest all-rounders in the recent past. His blistering knock against Australia and South Africa helped him through to the Mumbai Indians side as well.
Thus far, he has played in 16 ODIs, 9 T20Is, and 4 Tests for Sri Lanka.
Apart from his batting, Gunaratne often plays a major role with the ball, especially in the middle overs. His addition will undoubtedly boost Dhaka’s chances in retaining the title.
