Bangladesh head coach Chandika Hathurusinghe has resigned from his role after approach from Sri Lanka Cricket in the past week.
He handed over his letter of resignation to the BCB after the recent tour defeat to South Africa.
However, reports also suggested that Hathurusinghe was on verge of signing for Sri Lanka. Knowing his potential, Sri Lanka Cricket may consider him as the ideal replacement for Graham Ford.
Dean Jones and Jason Gillespie were also in the list of potential candidates for the position.
“As far as I remember, he submitted a letter to me in early October. He didn’t give any specific reasons. He only said he wasn’t interested anymore. He is a professional coach. We will deal it professionally. We won’t force him but will ask him about the reason,” said BCB president Nazmul Hasan.
