In Bangladesh’s 100th Test match, Sri Lankan skipper Rangana Herath bagged his 1000th first class wicket by dismissing all-rounder Mehedi Hasan Miraz on Day 3 of the ongoing 2nd Test at the P Sara Oval, Colombo. At the end of the day’s play, the hosts were 54 for the loss of none in the 13th over of the second innings.
After an unbelievable collapse in the final session of Day 2, the Tigers were able to rebuild with the experienced pair on crease. With the support of the tail, Bangladesh went past the Sri Lankan score to post a lead of over 100.
Mushfiqur Rahim and Mosaddek Hossain scored fifties as Shakib Al Hasan got to another well constructed century under pressure. The visitors were restricted to 467 in 134 overs. Lakshan Sandakan and Rangana Herath bagged 4 wickets each for Sri Lanka.
