Host nation Tajikistan made Sri Lanka pay with an incredible 6-0 win in the 2018 AFC U19 Championship Qualifiers at the Republican Central Stadium, Dushanbe Tajikistan.
After the humiliating 10-0 defeat to Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka had to put up a better defencive performance to bounce back into the competition. They did well, restricting Tajikistan to only a 2-0 lead in the first half.
However, the home side bounced back in the dying moments of the second half to finish 6-0 at full time.
Abdulloev Atham scored the first two goals for Tajikistan. The other goals scorers were Sharipov Umarjon, Yodgorov Daler, Samiev Shahrom and Athamjon.
