Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane battled through the tough phase to take India to an excellent position at the end of Day 1 of the 2nd Test at the SSC Grounds, Colombo. The visitors were 360 for 4 a couple minutes ago.
India got off to a brilliant start with Shikhar Dhawan on the counter. Quick wickets brought Sri Lanka back into the game but the partnership between Pujara and Rahane took it away again. With six wickets and a well-set batsman in the tank, the Indians are well set to post a score of over 500.
Pujara was dismissed for 133 in 232 deliveries earlier today. Rahane remains unbeaten at 106.
Sri Lanka will have to fight harder to keep India to a score of less than 500.
