A well constructed century from Kumar Sangakkara led Surrey to another important win against Hampshire in the Royal London One-Day Cup at The Oval on May 14. Surrey won the match by 66 runs (D/L method).
Batting first, an impressive century from George Bailey steered Hampshire to 271 in 50 overs. Bailey made an unbeaten 145 in just 132 deliveries. Ravi Rampaul bagged 4 for 61 in his 10 over spell.
In response, Mark Stoneman made a half century but Sangakkara was at his very best. He remained unbeaten with 124 in just 121 deliveries. His blistering innings was made of 13 fours and 2 sixes.
However, the target was reduced to 173 runs from 38 overs due to bad weather.
Surrey still need to win their final group match against Gloucestershire at Bristol on Wednesday.
