A day of controversy came to an end as the experienced duo of the Sri Lankan batting line up saw the side through to safety on Day 2 of the 3rd Test against India at Delhi last evening.
Play was interruped several times as the Sri Lankan fielders suffered with breathing issues due to the bad air in Delhi.
Virat Kohli’s double century steered India to 536 for 7 and they were forced to declare as Sri Lanka ran out of fielders before tea. Kohli made 243 in 287 deliveries for India.
In response, Sri Lanka are 3 down for 157 in 58 overs after the first hour of play in Day 3.
