Nuwan Pradeep will be replaced by seamer Lahiru Gamage for the five one day internationals against Pakistan starting today at the Dubai International Stadium.
He was ruled out after hurting his hamstring during the second test at the same venue. Sri Lanka won the test by 68 runs to take the series 2-0.
Meanwhile, Lahiru Gamage’s steady start to test cricket has convinced the selectors to retain him for the shorter format. He will pair with Suranga Lakmal to lead the Sri Lankan seam attack later today.
Moreover, Pradeep will undergo scans in Colombo to reassess the seriousness of his injury.
Gamage has represented Sri Lanka in 5 ODIs but only has 2 wickets under his name. He will look to make his mark and cement his place in the side starting today.
