The much awaited Pannala Circuit Meet is all set to commence at the Pannala race track tomorrow. As usual, the event is organized by the Asian Motor Racing Club (AMRC) in alliance with the Sri Lanka Association of Racing Drivers and Riders (SLARDAR).
Unlike any other race in the calendar, the Pannala Circuit Meet will be worked off at night.
The circuit meet will put this year’s Sri Lanka Super Series to bed with the awards ceremony to follow in December at the Eagles’ Lakeside Banquet & Convention Hall in Attidiya.
The night race will also add to the intensity of the super series as the competition has been on the up throughout the year. Moreover, the change is expected to induce a healthier crowd presence as well.
The Race Track
The Pannala race track is the first purpose built tarmac in Sri Lanka. It was later transformed into an excellent race track. The private track is 1.4km long, also identified as a tight circuit.
Dinesh Jayawardena and Shriyan Samuel stole the spotlight by emerging best driver and rider at the circuit meet last year. Jayawardena won the SLGT Cars upto 3500cc event ahead of Ushan Perera while Samuel outclassed all other competitors to win the Group M Standard/modified Super Sports Motorcycles Open – 250cc (4T) Race one and two.
Motorsports enthusiasts and onlookers can watch the Pannala Circuit Meet live on SLARDAR TV. In addition, we encourage you to stay tuned with us for live updates from the venue.
