Kumar Sangakkara will join the short list of commentators for the all-important ICC Champions Trophy scheduled to be played on June 1st in England and Wales.
He will be accompanied by Sourav Ganguly, Shane Warne, Michael Slater, Nasser Hussain, Michael Atherton, Shaun Pollock, Sanjay Manjrekar, Ian Bishop, Ramiz Raja, Simon Doull and Athar Ali Khan.
Earlier this month, Sangakkara was also acknowledged as an ambassador for the tournament.
“The Champions Trophy is a special tournament which I loved playing in and am honored to have enjoyed success in. Now, as a commentator, I am very much looking forward to being part of the tournament and watching the best players in the world go head to head,” said the retired Sri Lankan batsman.
A total of 34 cameras are set to be used for each match with player tracking for the very first time.
