Bangladesh won the 1st session of Day 3 in the 2nd Test against Sri Lanka as they lost just one wicket, 22 runs away from the lead at the P Sara Oval. At lunch, the visitors were 6 down for 316 in the 88th over of the innings.
After the three quick dismissals in the final session of Day 2 Sri Lanka held the edge but a dominant show by Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan turned things around for the hosts.
Both player made fifties but the captain was dismissed before lunch. His wicket was the only dismissal of the session.
With one session to go on Day 3, Sri Lanka will look to bag a few wickets before it’s too late. Herath will have to step his game to put the hosts on top.
