Dhruv Sheoran of India outsmarted Sisira Kumara of Sri Lanka to win the 130th Sri Lanka Amateur Golf Championship at Nuwara Eliya. Sheoran got the better of Kumara in the 36th hole of the contest.
Kumara got off to an excellent start and led by 4 at the halfway mark. Sheoran capitalised on Kumara’s mishit to reduce the gap by 1.
Sheoran’s 30-foot birdie putt gave him the edge over Kumara and eventually took him to a hard-fought win. The bunker shot sealed the game for the Indian.
Sisira Kumara was a tad unlucky as fortunes turned Sheoran’s way in the latter part of the match. However, it was a well-deserved win for Dhruv Sheoran.
