After two consecutive defeats, Sri Lanka Under 19 secured an emphatic 153 run win over South Africa U19 in the 3rd and the final one-day international played at Oudtshoorn last evening. The series ended 2-1 in favor of the home side.
Batting first, an impressive knock from Hasitha Boyagoda helped Sri Lanka post 228 in the given 50 overs. Openers Chathuranga and Nissaka batted well to see off the new ball. Lutho Sipamla bagged three important wickets for South Africa.
In response, the home side lost seven quick wickets for just 33 runs. They were eventually bowled out for 75.
Nipun Ransika continued to impress, bagging 4 for 24 in his 10 over spell. He was announced player of the match.
Raynard van Tonder was adjudged player of the series.
