Bangladesh national cricket head coach Chandika Hathurusingha is all set to replace Nic Pothas as head coach of Sri Lanka Cricket. Hathurusingha came up the ranks revamping Bangladesh and taking them to a couple of incredible wins over top cricketing nations in the world.
During his career as a cricketer, Hathurusingha played 26 Tests and 35 ODIs for Sri Lanka.
“Negotiation are going on with Chandika also. Though there are few others, most notably Dean Jones and Jason Gillespie, Chandika is the most likely to take over if everything goes well,” a top SLC official told Cricket Age.
Under Hathurusingha Bangladesh continued to thrive, overtaking Sri Lanka in limited over cricket rankings.
Sri Lanka will expect the same from the man as the youngsters get in to replace players like Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardena.
