Upul Tharanga steered Galle to an emphatic 75 run win over Colombo in the all-important finals of the SLC Super Provincial One Day International Tournament on June 10, 2018.
The final was held after a long break, particularly due to the bad weather condition in all parts of the island.
Galle vs Colombo: Match Report
Galle won the toss and elected to bat first, playing away from home. Together, Upul Tharanga and Sadeera Samarawickrama posted a massive first wicket partnership of over 100 runs.
Dasun Shanaka, Chaturanga De Silva, and Bhanuka Rajapakshe made useful contributions down the order. Tharanga was dismissed for 124 in 122.
The visitors eventually posted 320 for 7 in 50 overs.
Lakshan Sandakan picked 4 for 66 in 10 over the home team.
In response, Shehan Jayasuriya alongside young Kamindu Mendis steadied the chase but wickets fell after Colombo went past the 100 run mark. They were eventually bowled out for 245 in the 45th over.
Nishan Peiris and Malinda Pushpakumara picked 3 wickets apiece for Galle.

Both sides missed a few key players due to national duty in the ongoing Test series against West Indies. The top players in the Super Provincial ODI tournament will have a good chance of returning to the national side for the series against South Africa later this year.
Sri Lanka will take on South Africa in 5 One Day Internationals after the 2 match Test series starting 12th of July 2018 at the Galle International Stadium.
