Sri Lanka got the better of South Africa to win the all-important Tuanku Ja’afar Trophy at the International Under 15 Cricket tournament held in Malaysia.
The South Africans were humiliated as Sri Lanka completed an impressive 131 run win, bowling the side out for 35 in just the 18th over of the innings.
Batting first, Sri Lanka Under 15 made 116 for the loss of 6 wickets in the given 40 overs. Pawan Rathnayake scored an important half century for the boys from the sub-continent.
In response, Kai Slade Curran was the only South African batsman to get into double figures. Abhishek Anandakumar bagged 4 for 5 for the lions.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka defeated South Africa, Bangladesh, and Malaysia in the first round. The hosts were defeated in the semi-finals as well.
