Param Uppal splendid ton steered Australia Under 19 to a dominant win in the 1st Youth ODI Played at Kingston Twin Ovals, Hobart earlier today. Sri Lanka lost by a margin of 160 runs.
Batting first, the home side got off to an excellent start before losing Max Bryant in the 7th over of the innings. However, Uppal’s resistance lifted the side, guiding them to an excellent total of 265 for the loss of 9 wickets. Uppal made 111 in 119 deliveries for the Aussies.
In response, the visitors were three down for 20 in just the 4th over of the innings. Sumanasinghe was the only batsman to cross the twenty run mark. Eventually, they were bowled out for 105 in the 33rd over.
Evans emerged as the pick of the bowlers for Australia with figures of 4 for 22 in 10 overs.
Uppal was announced player of the match. Australia lead the 5 match series 1-0.
