An excellent spell of bowling from Anisa Mohammed led the West Indies women’s team through to an emphatic win, pushing Sri Lanka to a deep hole in the ongoing ICC Women’s world cup in England and Wales.
West Indies won the game by 47 runs.
Batting first, solid knocks from Aguilleira and Dottin led West India to a formidable total of 229 in 50 overs. However, it was well within the reach for Sri Lanka.
In response, a couple of Sri Lankan batsman got starts but failed to build on it. Anisa Mohammed emerged as the pick of the bowlers for the team from the Caribbean.
Team Sri Lanka is yet to find a win in the World Cup campaign.
